Cops say a 67-year-old woman beat her husband to death in their Staten Island home New York on Wednesday, before setting the abode ablaze.
“I was sick and tired of his abuse,” Antoinette Baldassarre told investigators, according to police sources.
The crime unraveled after firefighters raced to the Victory Blvd. home, near Woodstock Ave. in Tompkinsville, just before noon to put out a blaze in the garage.
Searching the house for possible victims, they found Frank Baldassarre,82, dead in the bathtub. He died from blunt-force trauma to the head and body, police said.
Antoinette Baldassarre was discovered in the garage with duct tape on her hands.
Paramedics rushed her to Richmond County University Medical Center, where she was treated for smoke inhalation.
Cops said they determined that Antoinette Baldassarre hit her husband in the head with a crowbar. She then allegedly taped her hands and set the garage on fire to make the murder look like a home invasion gone awry.
Police charged Antoinette Baldassarre with murder and arson on Thursday…
