The National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), the umbrella body of all traders groups in Nigeria, will close all markets and shopping plazas in the FCT today in honour of the victims of the recent EMAB Plaza bomb blast.
President of the body, Ken Ukaoha told newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday that the market and plazas would be closed until 12noon on Thursday.
“It is very worrisome that the bombing of markets and plazas and commercial places is gradually becoming the order in the country to the point that people are now soak-scared of going to markets” he said.
Ukaoha also said its FCT chapter is to co-ordinate a solidarity programme that would assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of the affected victims, expressing concern over the absence of security operatives permanently around the market and plazas in the FCT.
