BasketMouth, Iyanya,Ubi Franklin, Michael Bayowale involved in a scandal. German based promoter Kamasolo contacted Diamond Celebrities a while ago with betrayal and duping allegations. We called the other party involved to find out if the allegation was true. Kamsolo told Diamond celebrities, he tried several times to resolve the issue amicably to no avail. He also said, he made several attempts to reach the parties involved but they keep ignoring him and eventually stopped picking his calls.

Hear his story:

I know Basketmouth personally. We eat and drink together. He personally introduced a guy called Michael Bayowale to me in Germany as his Europe agent who lives in Belgium. In September 2013, Basketmouth and Bayowale met me and proposed the Iyanya Europe tour 2013 for 8000 Euros per concert. So, I decided to buy one show from them. Basketmouth asked me to sign the contract with his agent Michael Bayowale which I did. As part of the agreement I had to pay 50% before Iyanya arrived in Europe and 50% at the night of the event. When I requested for Video drop from Iyanya to be sure of his Europe tour, Michael Bayowale said I had to pay first. And since I did not trust him, I contacted Basketmouth who now assured me that all was okay. He reassured me that in case Iyanya didn’t come that I would receive my money back within 5 working days. He instructed that I send 2000 dollars to Iyanya’s manager, Mr.Frankly Ubi Ofem in Nigeria and 2600 Euros to Michael Bayole his agent in Belgium, which I did through western union bank (I have evidence of money transfer). I rented a hall for 3500 Euros, printed posters and flyers, radio promo etc and these cost me an additional 2500 Euros. In the end Iyanya did not come to Germany. ‘No reason was given and no apology tendered’.

All efforts to recover my money in a friendly manner proved futile. Basketmouth and his agent stopped picking my calls. I sent him several sms but got no response back. I contacted Mr. Franklyn Ubi Ofem (Iyanyan’s manager) to request for my money to be paid back to me since I directly sent 2000 dollars to him. All he said to me in an email was and I quote, “You should not disturb me because I have sent the whole money to Basketmouth”. Franklyn added that he was not aware of those Europe tours arrangement and that Basketmouth played with Iyanya’s camp to collect money from people abroad.

I can give you Basketmouth’s number or the number of Iyanya’s manager in Nigeria, if you wanna verify. Basketmouth as a role model is bringing shame to the Nigerian music industry in the diaspora.

Kamsolo also includes.

Sure there was a contract matter. As a matter of fact, the German Police tried to track down Basketmouth’s EU agent in Belgium with the address they wrote on the contract but only to find out it was fake. The passport Basketmouth’s agent used in collecting my money was also fake. I am sure Basketmouth used that guy in Belgium as a shade to run a clean 419 deal. Basketmouth collected even the 2000 dollars I sent to Iyanya’s manager to clearly show his criminal intents.

When Diamond Celebrities talked with Mr. Ubi for the first time in November after we received the information, he said, ”those people in Belgium are crazy people and he regrets having had anything to do with them”. We did not get the visa because of the time factor, but we told them that we’ll call and come through London but before we got to London, they had cancelled the show without informing us. We’ve returned their money back to them. He also told us that he did not wish to discuss the matter any further.

We couldn’t reach Basketmouth at the time we were putting this report together.
