Oscar-winning Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Dies

The 46-year-old Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead on Sunday afternoon in his New York apartment, after a suspected drug overdose.

Law enforcement sources said… the actor was found Sunday morning inside a Greenwich apartment … and they’re still on scene investigating.

Law enforcement also sources said:  ”Hoffman was discovered by his assistant in the bathroom of his apartment on Bethune Street, in the West Village neighbourhood of Manhattan, around 11.15am ET… he hadn’t heard from Hoffman and was checking up on him.

In a statement, Hoffman’s family said: “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers.”
